Path vs anusthan

Path: one reading, one visit

A path is a recitation visit—Sundarkand, Ramayan kaand, Durga saptashati, or similar—usually completed in one or two connected sittings at the house. The pandit leads pronunciation; the family listens, joins selected chaupais, and offers aarti and prasad. There is no lakh-count jap unless you separately ask for it.

Families in Indiranagar and Electronic City often book a path for saturday evenings, housewarming follow-up, or elder’s wish without taking leave for a week of sessions.

Anusthan: counted worship over days

Anusthan adds a numerical sankalp: so many recitations, jap, or havan days in a row. The priest returns daily or runs longer single days until the count completes. Mahamrityunjay, Chandi, or Gayatri anusthans are common examples. Materials and fatigue accumulate; dakshina reflects the extra days—see anusthan cost.

Choosing between them is not about which is “stronger.” It is about what your elder or tradition asked for and what your home schedule can hold.

How Pandit Mrityunjay Sharma helps you choose

Describe the reason in plain language—health worry, ancestral vow, new home—without needing astrological product names. He will say whether a single path answers the request or an anusthan with a fixed count is appropriate. Worship is offered in traditional order; outcomes are not guaranteed on this page.

Examples families recognise

A Saturday Sundarkand with prasad is a path. Eleven days of Chandi recitation with closing havan is an anusthan. A single Gayatri havan can be either depending on sankalp language—another reason to describe your elder’s instruction in plain Hindi or English instead of copying marketing labels from apps.

Both happen at the house in Bengaluru. Neither is a replacement for hospital treatment, court cases, or school exams. If someone online promises guaranteed results from “just one path,” treat that as sales talk, not this site’s wording.

Leave days and work schedules

IT families in Bengaluru often book paths on a single Saturday because leave is scarce. Anusthans may need one hour before office for seven mornings—confirm with HR before sankalp. Pandit Mrityunjay Sharma can suggest evening slots when mornings fail, but the count must still finish honestly.

If you stop mid-anusthan without completing the sankalp number, elders may ask for a fresh start. Paths rarely have that pressure unless you promised a full Ramayan and only heard half. Be realistic in the first WhatsApp message about how many days you can host the priest at home.

Questions

Can a path turn into anusthan mid-way?

Only with a fresh sankalp and agreement on extra days and materials.

Which is shorter for guests?

Paths are usually one event; anusthans may invite guests only on the final havan.

Do both need havan?

Not always. Format is confirmed on WhatsApp per rite.

Is online path enough?

This site books in-person house worship in Bengaluru, not streaming substitutes.

What to send

The name of the rite, your area in Bengaluru, and a preferred day. If elders have a family custom, mention it in the first message.

How to book

Message either WhatsApp number. Pandit Mrityunjay Sharma does the work at the house in Bengaluru and nearby areas within about one hundred kilometres. The fee and material list are shared in that chat; they are not printed on this page. The site form opens WhatsApp only and does not store your details.
